Obituary

Xynides, Chris 52 of San Antonio, FL passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015 in Tampa. He was born June 13, 1963 in St. Augustine, FL to Nicholas Harry & Sylvia Dean Xynides and graduated from St. Augustine High School in 1981. Chris was a member of the National Honor Society and voted Most Likely to Succeed. He graduated from the University of Florida with his B.S. degree in Surveying and Mapping and worked at DC Johnson & Associates for over 20 years where he served as President. His love of woodworking and time spent on the water were all hobbies he developed as he spent time with his dad working at Xynides Boat Yard in St. Augustine. Chris was a bighearted man who loved God and his family. He served the Lord as a Church Elder and spent the last 10 years as an Awana Commander at the First Baptist Church of Dade City. Chris was a devoted husband and father; he leaves behind his wife of 26 years: Kendra Xynides; 2 children: Dillon and Amy Xynides; his father: Nicky Xynides; brother: Greg Xynides; 2 aunts: Eleni Xynides and Rene (Busso) Ricon-Xynides; numerous cousins and many close friends. Funeral services will be held 5pm Friday, September 25, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Dade City. The family will receive friends from 3:30pm up to service time Friday at the church. Burial will take place at Craig Memorial Park in St. Augustine. Flowers will be gratefully accepted or those that wish may make donations in Chriss memory to the First Baptist Church of Dade City where an educational scholarship will be set up for the children. Chris will leave behind a legacy of service and will be lovingly remembered by the lives he touched.
