IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Chester Arthur
Mahon Jr
February 10, 1933 – November 26, 2024
Chester Arthur Mahon Jr. (Pops) of Dade City, FL passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024; at the age of 91. He passed away in his home, surrounded by family.
Life
Chester was born to the late Chester and Frances Mahon on February 10, 1933 in Dexter, NY. He was the oldest of eleven children. Chester grew up on a farm in a loving Christian home. He was often playing sports, helping with his younger siblings, and working on the farm. Chester served in the United States Navy for a brief, but meaningful period. He then began his fulfilling, lengthy career as an over the road Truck Driver. For 25 of those years, Chester had his loving wife, Jane, join him on the road. After coming off the road, Chester became the Yard Manager for Covenant Transport; where he would retire. When he was not on the road, Chester would find ways to spend time with family. He had twelve children of his own, who then gave him too many grandchildren to count. Chester always enjoyed it when his family could get together. He enjoyed playing football or softball during family gatherings, poker nights with his children and their significant others, teaching his grandchildren/great grandchildren how to play cards, road trips, holiday times together, and big family reunions. He was committed to church on Sundays, followed by his favorite meal, breakfast. He was a long-time Raiders fan and football fanatic. "Commitment to Excellence" might have been the Raiders slogan, but it was what Pops wanted for his family. He was a caring, compassionate man who always gave others the benefit of the doubt. He was loving, supportive, giving, flirtatious, and determined he would one day win big on the sweepstakes.
