Cheryl Ann Hunt, 69, of Zephyrhills, FL passed away on September 14, 2021 after a six week battle with COVID. Cheryl was born on October 20, 1951 in Flint Michigan to Rollin and June (Horton) Parker. She was married to Roger Hunt Sr. on June 29, 1969. Cheryl and Roger moved to central Florida with their four children in 1978 where they planted deep roots, becoming devoted members of their church, community, and growing family.
Cheryl worked as a mail processor with the post office for 26 years until she retired in 2013. Retirement for Cheryl meant more time to devote to her family and church. She had a hand in raising numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren both while she worked and after. There was never a time she was too busy or unwilling to help and each of her offspring share precious memories with her. She has served as head deaconess at East Pasco Seventh-day Adventist church, as well as leading the community outreach team. She devoted her holidays to feeding the homeless and lonely in the community. Making everyone feel loved and welcome was more than a gift, it came naturally to Cheryl and she shared her warmth with every person who crossed her path.
Cheryl is survived by her husband Roger Hunt Sr.; her children Roger Hunt Jr., Jody Barrera (William Kelley Sr.), Jeffrey Hunt Sr. (Alison Wieites), Kimberly Mayer (Scott); siblings David Parker (Bonnie), Darrell Parker Sr. (Mary), Dennis Parker Sr. (Brenda), Darla Young (Bill); as well as her legacy of grandchildren Jessica Wilson, Amanda Nascarella, Jeffrey Hunt Jr., Esmeralda Sowards, Mark Barrera, Elizabeth Brush, Samuel Barrera, Tiffany Kelley, Bernadette Barrera, Katerina Hunt, Allison Hunt, Kaitlinn Hunt, William Kelley Jr., Brian Hunt, Madeline Mayer, Anderson Mayer, Eli Wieties, August Wieties, Nicholas Mayer, Oliver Hunt, and Morghann Mayer, their spouses, and 21 great-grandchildren with 3 on the way! She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Charlene Brown (William).
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, October 9 at 4:00 PM at East Pasco Seventh-day Adventist church in Zephyrhills, Florida. A second memorial service will be held at the Cedar Lake Adventist church in Cedar Lake, Michigan on October 23 at 4:00 PM.
