Cheryl Sue Callery, 72, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025, at the Ruskin Hospice House surrounded by family. Born in Amsterdam, NY, she was a 1970 graduate of Johnstown High School. It was there that she met the love of her life, Tom, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and devotion.

In 1986, Cheryl and Tom moved to Dade City, FL, where they raised their two daughters. She worked for many years at the DMV as an Investigator, where she was known for her friendly nature, patience, and dedication to helping others.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, and her parents, Herbert and Eleanore Dawson. She is survived by her daughters, Stacey and Becky; her cherished grandsons, Dylan and Colbey and granddaughter Hayley; her sister, Cindi Jeffers (George); her brother, Terry Dawson; and several beloved nieces and nephew.

Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is at home with Tom now.

A celebration of Sherry's life will be held at Hodges Funeral Home at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice in her memory.
