On Sunday, December 20, 2020 Charles David "Chuck" Near Sr. passed away at the age of 64. Chuck was born August 9, 1956 in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada.

Chuck was a simple, hardworking man with a kind and generous heart. He was always among the first to help anyone who needed it, regardless of who they were or how far away they were. As the owner of C&P Construction he constructed concrete and masonry buildings in several locations across Florida and Texas. He was also an avid outdoorsman and hunter and enjoyed passing his knowledge of the woods on to future generations.

He was predeceased by his father Charles Albert "Bud" Near Jr. and mother Eileen Near, his brother David Near and his son Scott Clinton. He is survived by his wife Penny Near, daughter Renee Clinton, son Charles "Chuck" Near Jr., grandchildren Kaylee Clinton, Drake Dubowik, Alyson Dubowik and Jerrod Walton, and his siblings Charlene Potwin, Sharon Huffman, Allan Near, Forrest Near, Brenda Neuhauser and Stacy Near, Nora Near and Charles Albert "Charlie" Near III along with a multitude of nieces and nephews.

Services will be Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Zephyrhills. Visitation from 11:30am to 1:00pm and Service from 1:00pm to 2:00pm with procession to Crystal Springs Cemetery, and Celebration of Life at Crystal Springs Community Center to follow.
