Charles E. Murphy Jr. (Charlie), 91, of Zephyrhills, FL passed away on 09/06/2024, at Lakeland Regional Hospital surrounded by family.
Charles was born 02/02/1933 in West Springfield, Massachusetts, the son of Isabelle Miles and Charles Murphy, Sr.
Charles was married to Geraldine Guyette until her death in 1982. He married Jeanne Beauchemin in 1982 until her death in 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Mary Foster, Nancy Katalina and Patricia Bertrand. He was forever grateful and remembered fondly his grandparents, William and Catherine Murphy and all the members of the Murphy family who gave him so much love to him when he was a child.
Charles worked as a salesman at BFI Waste Management, where he was respected and appreciated by all his customers and employer. He had also been a manager at Midas Muffler, Salesman at RS Graves and a foreman at Fruehauf trucking as a young man.
Charlie's passion was karaoke, especially with Roger at The American Legion of Dade City and the Elks in Zephyrhills. Charlie was always very active, volunteering at organizations and his community - Colony Hills of Zephyrhills. But he especially loved his family and dear friends and neighbors. He was a devoted husband to his first wife Gerry who was ill for the majority of their marriage. He loved traveling with his second wife Jeanne and they were very active and lifetime members of The Elks. They also volunteered at The Eagles of Zephyrhills, were members of the Moose Lodge. Charles especially loved bike riding, playing softball in his younger years in Zephyrhills and telling jokes to the ladies as he called bingo. Everyone remembers his great sense of humor, beautiful smile and kind nature.
Remaining to cherish Charles' memory are his brother Robert Avery and wife Sharon of Flagler Beach, FL, children, Charlene and Charles; their spouses Bob and Jany, grandchildren, Paul, Torry and Katie; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Violet, Wesley and Autumn and great great grandson Wesley.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Elks Lodge in Zephyrhills FL, date to be announced.
