Obituary

Masuret, (Charles) Leo Lee, 81, of Zephyrhills, FL, (formally of Danbury, CT,) passed away peacefully on May 22, 2014 at Tarpon Bayou Center in Tarpon Springs FL. Leo was born in Boston, MA and attended West Roxbury and Cathedral High Schools. He earned a business degree while attending Babson College and Northeastern University in Boston. After college he proudly served as a member of The 3rd United States Infantry Regiment, the oldest active duty regiment in the United States Army, also known as: "The Old Guard. He was one of the select few, honored to walk the mat and guard the Tomb of the Unknown Solider, in Arlington VA. Leo spent most of this career in sales which included; Piper Aircraft, Gates Lear Jet, and Motobcane, a French manufacturer of bicycles, mopeds, and motorcycles. Prior to retirement, Leo was the IBM Account Executive at NYNEX in White Plaines, NY. He was also the owner of The Living Word Book store in Southbury, CT and Candlewood Lake Tours in Danbury, CT where he was known as Capt. Lee. In his free time he could be found piloting small aircraft, boating on Candlewood Lake or motorcycling the scenic roads of Connecticut and Florida. Lee was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association in Danbury and Southbury CT and Dade City FL. He was also an active member of Calvary Assembly of God in Dade City, FL and prior, a member of First Assembly of God, Brookfield CT. He rejoiced in his love of The Lord and shared that passion with his wife. Leo Lee was a kind, friendly, easy-going man, a friend to all he met. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 35 years, Marlene (Gillooly) Masuret; his daughters; Lee Ann Masuret of San Diego, CA, Ellen Masuret of Wheaton, IL, and Laurie (John) Masuret-Baloun of St. Charles, IL with his grandchildren; Eamon, Colin and Xotchi Baloun; Step-children, Brian Gillooly of San Diego, CA; Christie (Ken) Laracuente, of Milford, CT with grandchildren, Lauren, Michael and Tyler Laracuente; Craig L. (Jennifer Lonack) Gillooly of San Diego, CA, with grandson Evan Gillooly; Tim (Melanie) Gillooly of Zephyrhills, FL; brother, Donald Masuret, of Waynesville, NC; and sister Ellen (Ralph) Galeota of West Harwich, MA. A services to celebrate his life and journey home, officiated by Pastor John Chesser, will be held on Friday, May 30. 2014, at Hodges Funeral Home (on Hwy. 301,) Dade City, Florida. Visitation will be from 10:30am-11:30am and service to begin at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers, the family has chosen donations be made to: Alzheimers Association.
