JOYCE, Charles H., "Charlie" 71, of Seffner, FL. passed away on March 26, 2023. He was born in Memphis, TN., on September 14, 1951, to Charles H & Anne (Carroll) Joyce, who preceded him in death, along with his brother Robert Joyce. He grew up in Thonotosassa and was a graduate of King High School. Charlie was of the United Methodist Church faith and loved his church. He was a Property and Casualty Insurance agent who was a member of the Florida Association of Insurance Agents (FAIA) and started his own agency, Charles H. Joyce Insurance, in 1992. He specialized in workers' compensation for thoroughbred horse farms, construction companies, agricultural farms, bowling centers, etc. He was very dedicated and supportive of the strawberry grower's industry and was a member of the Florida Strawberry Growers' Association; being awarded Gold Corporate member in 2000 and the Classic award for his lifelong efforts to promote and support Florida's Strawberry industry. Charles was also actively involved in helping the legislature in rewriting the worker's compensation statute in 2008. An avid thoroughbred horse racing enthusiast, he loved to golf, and fish, as well as root for his favorite football and baseball teams. He enjoyed horseback riding and playing baseball during his younger years. Charlie enjoyed having family and friends over for cookouts and many good times. He is survived by his devoted wife Sharon (Nichols) Joyce of 36 years. daughter Janel (Doug) Rand, son Charles David (Meagan) Joyce; sister Carol Joyce; grandchildren Justin, Cody, Brooke, Adrianah, and Jeremiah Rand; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends. A Celebration of Life for Charles will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Hillsborough United Methodist Church, 9008 Harney Road, Tampa, Florida.
