Charles H. Edwards Jr. 80, a lifelong resident of the Dade City area passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019. He was born September 3, 1938 to Charleshugh & Sallie Ledbetter Edwards. Charles is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carole Edwards; his children: Leigh Ann Cosmo (Leonard), Lynn Dicks (Steven), John "JD" Edwards; his sister: Jo Claire McClain; grandchildren: Meagan Edwards, Ashley Edwards, Jasmine Edwards Wright (Curtis), JD Edwards, Noah Edwards; and 2 great grandsons: Alexander Edwards and Liam Wright. He was preceded in death by his son: Charles Hugh Hamilton Edwards III; and his brother: L.G. Edwards. Charles was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, as well a great friend to those around him.

Charles loved spending time with his family; whether it was watching/attending sporting events, having dinners or just visiting and talking. Before retirement, he worked in the Citrus Industry and later was involved in Real Estate investments. In his earlier years, Charles had a passion for playing sports. Later he became an avid runner. He was always a true patriot who loved his country. Charles was the type of person that was loved by many. He will be greatly missed by his friends, but especially by his family who loved him so much.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 15, from 12pm to 1pm with services to begin at 1pm at Hodges Family Funeral Home Dade City, Highway 301. Burial will be at Dade City Cemetery directly following the service. Flowers may be sent to Hodges, or in leu of flowers a donation to can be made to a charity of your choice in loving memory of Charles.
