Charles (AKA Charlie) Dexter Bennion November 27, 1947- June 13, 2018

Charlie was raised on the family farm in younger years in Castile NY. He attended elementary school at Castile Elementary and high school at Letchworth Central School in Gainesville where he graduated. During high school he was a member of and involved with FFA. He was also a member of and marched with the Castile Drum and Bugle Corp.

After high school he became interested in trucks, trucking, and transportation and anything that was affiliated with "The Road". From the farm to trucking and transportation he remained an over the road truck driver in many different elements of transportation where most of the years of his career were involved in produce and food being dry or liquid cargos and was this part of the transportation industry. He retired from due to health reasons yet always kept the love of trucks and trucking close to his heart.

Before leaving New York to reside in the South while living in the Bliss NY area he was a member of Bliss Fire Dept. in the mid 70s to the early 80's and after residing in Florida for a few years became a member of Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Dept.

Beside the fire company and career interests Charles had great interest and participated in fishing and hunting with the Gibson family and neighbors.

When Charles moved to Florida in the early 1980's he became involved with Evelyn "Tanky and Dennis Gibson where he resided most of his years in Florida.

We, "the northern family will eternally be grateful to the entire "Southern family' (Gibson family) including Connie Russell all who helped with his care throughout his years in Florida until the time of his passing.

Charles was predeceased by his parents Chester (2007) and Virginia (1981) Bennion and very special friends Dennis and Evelyn (Tanky) Gibson.

Surviving are his children Ronald (Songi) Bennion in Seven Lakes NC., and Sherry Bennion in Aberdeen NC., Three grandchildren Rylan and Adylen Bennion (Ron and Songi) and Amanda Bosthworth (Sherry Bennion).

Siblings surviving are Nancy (Mitchell) Plaeger, Brooksville Fl., Lawrence (Larry) Bennion, and Hume, NY. Donna (Reggie) Sanford., Castile, NY., Wayne (Cindy) Bennion, Castile NY., and Brenda (Everett Jr) Castile, NY. along with numerous nieces and nephews.
