Casey Louis Przybocki
August 4, 1935 – February 6, 2025
Casey Przybocki, 89 of San Antonio FL passed away on February 6, 2025. The son of Polish immigrants, Casey was born in West Branch Barnesboro PA, the tenth of 12 children. He was raised by a coal miner father and loving mother with plenty of help from older siblings. His early years were marked by family, his Catholic faith, working on their small family farm, and playing sports at the Polish Legion. Casey is a 1953 graduate of Barnesboro High School where he won the American heritage essay contest. After graduating from St Francis College in Loretto PA, earning a master's degree in education at West Virginia University, and serving in the Army reserve, Casey pursued his passion for teaching. He taught junior high mathematics to hundreds of students over a 35-year career while also running the school store, sponsoring the student chess club, and serving as golf coach.
In 1963 Casey married Sandra Slawianoski and in a span of 2 1/2 years they had four children. They lovingly raised a tight knit family in Gaithersburg MD with annual summer vacations to the Maryland shore and a month's long cross country driving trip in 1973. Casey was a youth baseball, football, and softball coach, a Eucharistic minister, usher and reader at his church, member of the Knights of Columbus, an officer in the local Polish club and the driving force behind the construction of the community aquatic center. In 1995, Casey and Sandra moved to San Antonio FL, where they continued to be involved with their community, their parish and their family. Sandra, the love of his life, passed away in 2015 after 51 years of marriage.
Casey's kind and generous spirit touched the lives of all who knew him. He was particularly thoughtful and unwavering in support of his children, nieces and nephews. Casey also had a deep love for animals, especially his beloved dog Jeter who was often found dozing on his lap. A sports enthusiast, Casey played men's softball in his early years and then developed a lifetime passion for golf. He organized the annual Przybocki Family Open golf tournaments in Ocean City MD and won his fair share of these events. He will be remembered as an avid sports fan, especially of his beloved Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers, and later Tampa Bay Rays and Buccaneers.
Casey is survived by his children Kevin (Erin), Kathleen, Joan (Paul Valdez), and Jean (Ric Campbell); by his siblings Walter Przybocki, Reverend Monsignor Bernard Przybocki, Sister Mary Justice Przybocki, and John Przybocki; and by seven grandchildren (Conor, Ryan, Benjamin, Kyle, Samantha, Darian, Tea) and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Sandra, his mother Mary, father Frank, and siblings Dolores Kusiak, Elizabeth Oleksy, Blair Przybocki, Stanley Przybocki, Violet Previte, Ted Przybocki, and Joseph Przybocki.
