Iris Carolyn Thompson 78, of Dade City, FL passed away Monday, December 23rd, 2019 in Zephyrhills under the care of Gulfside Regional Hospice with her son Tracy by her side. She was born December 28, 1940 in Lacoochee, FL to Joseph Phillip and Hazel Ruth Gay Mickler. Carolyn worked in the Title Insurance Industry from 1958 until her retirement in 2014. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Lacoochee. She loved the Lord and served faithfully as Pianist for a number of years and was known in the area for her "World Famous Butternut Cakes and Sour Cream Pound Cakes".

Carolyn is survived by her children: Tracy J. Thompson, Janelle "Sis" Ballard (Wayne), Bubba Thompson (Pat); 1 granddaughter: Brandi Tadlock (Chad); 2 great grandsons: Cody Tadlock, Tyler Tadlock; 9 nephews: Paul Mickler, Jr, Clay Mickler (Laura), Allen Curry (Tippi), Stephen Thompson (Joy), Carmen Thompson, Gary Cason, Stuart Cason (Donna), David Thompson, Kevin Corrigan (Brenda); 3 nieces: Leatrice Byrd (Bill), Marsha Knowles (Randy) and Gloria McDaniels. She was preceded in death by her parents: parents: Phillip and Hazel Mickler; 2 brothers: Wallace "Mike" MIckler, Howell Mickler; and her Jack Russell's Gracie and Lucy.

A Celebration of her Life will be held 11am Saturday, December 28, 2019 at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for viewing Saturday morning from 9:30am until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Clay Sink Cemetery.
