Obituary

Carolyn Andrews Herndon (Granny), passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, surrounded by loving family in Dade City, Florida, at the age of 84. Born on November 5, 1941, in Illinois, she lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and an enduring love for her family and faith.

Carolyn was the beloved wife of the late Everett Herndon Jr., with whom she shared over 51 cherished years. Together they built a family that became her greatest joy and legacy. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Sharon Schnitzler, Steven Small (Kimberly), Laura Holliday (William), Everett G Herndon III (Traye) (Luna), Matthew Herndon (Debbie), and Paulasue Kien (Susie) (Mark)). Carolyn was a passionately devoted grandmother to several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carolyn's devotion to her family was unwavering, and her presence brought warmth and laughter to every gathering.

A talented artist and baker, Carolyn expressed herself through vibrant creations both on canvas and in the kitchen. Her home was often filled with the sweet aroma of baked goods and the colorful beauty of her artwork. She had a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures—watching Hallmark movies, playing cards with loved ones, and sharing stories over a warm meal.

Carolyn's faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She loved Jesus deeply and found great joy in gospel music—especially when sung by Elvis Presley. Whether singing along or simply listening with a smile, these moments brought her peace and happiness.

Those who knew Carolyn will remember her as kind beyond measure—a woman whose generous spirit touched everyone she met. She had an infectious love for fun and an uncanny ability to bring joy into any situation. Her laughter was genuine, her heart open, and her presence comforting.

May Carolyn's memory be a blessing to all who knew her. Her legacy of love, creativity, faith, and joy will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.
