Caroline (Hartford) Joyce, 94, of Zephyrhills, FL passed away peacefully on August 28th at Gulfside hospice in Zephyrhills with her family by her side.She was the wife of the late Edward Joyce who passed away in February 2013.She was born in Smithfield Maine on April 24th, 1919 on a family farm and was the daughter of the late Luther and Mabel (Simonds) Hartford. She attended Norridgewock High School and enlisted in the Women's Army Corps at the start of World War II, assigned to the 591st Army Air Force Base Unit. She was stationed in Merced, California. She married Edward Joyce in 1950 and they settled in Framingham, MA where they raised their family.Caroline worked as a waitress at Kens Steak House in Framingham for 35 years. Upon retirement in 1992 she and her husband moved to Zephyrhills, FL where they enjoyed living at Gem Estates.She is survived by daughter Linda (Joyce) Wood and husband Geoff Wood of Newbury, MA, son Timothy Joyce of Dorchester MA, Granddaughter Melanie Wood and fianc Greg of Cambridge, MA , and David Hartford of Smithfield, ME who was like a younger brother to her. She also leaves several generations of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Arnold Hartford and sister Muriel (Hartford) Tupper. A celebration of Edward and Carolines life will be held at a later date in Zephyrhills, Florida.
