On Saturday December 22, 2018, Carole Anne Fussner, loving wife, mother of two and nana of four passed away at age 73.
Carole was born November 1, 1945 in London, England to Walter and Elsie (Mason) Kohlmeier. She attended Belleville High School and Junior College. During her early years Carole worked for the Carterville, Illinois school system and operated her own restaurant. She went on to work in the medical field before retiring in Zephyrhills, FL in 2010.
On June 26, 1965, she married Guy Wayne Fussner of Millstadt, Illinois. Together they raised two children Michael and Michelle. Carole was a loving wife, mother and nana. She enjoyed cooking and being around family. She also enjoyed collecting spoons and light houses. She was always putting others before herself.
Carole was proceeded in death by her father Walter Kohlmeier and mother Elsie Kohlmeier of Belleville, Illinois. She is survived by her husband Guy Fussner of Zephryhills, Florida, her two children Michael (Laura) Fussner, Michelle Fussner, her brother Ivan (Judy) Kohlmeier and four grandchildren Zachary Lockenvitz, Jarrod Fussner, Emma Fussner and Daniel Benefiel.
Mom, you will forever be in our hearts and while we will miss you dearly, we find peace in knowing that you are now with our savior Jesus Christ. You are now Omnipresent in our lives. Our guardian angel listening to every word we say and seeing everything we see. Love you mom!
A celebration of Caroles life will be held in Tampa, Florida at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her memory to go towards research for either Dementia/Alzheimers or Multiple Sclerosis.
