CROFT, Carole Sumner, 74 of Dade City went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at her residence. Carole was born in Dade City to Claude & Mabel (Everidge) Sumner. She attended school in Dade City and was a 1960 graduate of Pasco High School. Later in life Carole attended Pasco-Hernando Community College and transferred to St. Leo College, completing her Bachelors degree in accounting and was dedicated and hardworking throughout her career. While attending college she was a proud member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society, the nations oldest academic Honor Society. Carole was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dade City. Well known in the Dade City area, she was an extremely talented organist who played for many churches, weddings and other events. She loved flowers and grew trumpet lilies, caladiums, hibiscus, and crepe myrtles. Carole was a caring and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who had a unique sense of humor, who loved the beach and sea shells. She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter Rhea Croft. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Frank Croft of Dade City, two sons, Mark (Brenda Beebe) Croft of Pinellas Park, FL, Clark (Lynda) Croft of Brandon, MS and a daughter Laura (Lyle) Freijo of Dade City, FL. She is also survived by her sister Evelyn Rowell of Dade City, FL, eight grandchildren, Ashli Barrett, Franky Croft, Jacob Croft, William Croft, Alex Croft, Kira Freijo, Kacie Freijo, Carter Freijo, and a great grandson Aadrien Barret. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, August 18, 2017 at the Dade City Cemetery. Visitation will be at 6:00 pm and a Memorial Service celebrating Caroles life will take place at 7:00 pm also on Friday, August 18, 2017 at the Hwy 301 chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home.
