Carol Ann DeVoogd Hurlong, age 87, passed away on January 8, 2026.
She was born in Fraser, MI to Jake (Minnie Frikken) DeVoogd on August 29.1938 and graduated from Fraser High School.
She was preceded in death by her four brothers, Sumner (Nancy), Gerald (Viola), Elmer (Alvis), Thomas (Linda). Survivors include her beloved husband, Bob Godwin; daughter, Chrissy (Phil) Brown; grandchildren, Ron (Victoria) Millward, Bill (Samantha) Evans; 2 great grandchildren, William and Delilah Evans; many nieces and nephews; sister-in-laws, Linda DeVoogd whom she was very close to, Joanne Getz and Rose Belvins.
Carol spent the last 40 years living in Zephyrhills, FL. She found so much joy in spending time with her grandchildren. She operated a flea market booth for 30 years at Gunn Highway Flea Market and was also a member of the YMCA for many years.
Carol was an avid Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan and Nascar fan. Some of her enjoyments included fishing, traveling and casinos, but above all, she loved her family and friends. She was admired for her intelligence, resilience and generosity.
A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
