Carol Susan Gloer, age 79, of San Antonio, FL passed away Friday, June 14, 2024, in Zephyrhills under the care of Gulfside Regional Hospice. She was born December 22, 1944 in Simsbury, CT, to Clarence & Helen Headle and moved to this area 12 years ago from Rossford, OH.

Carol was thrilled when she and Gary moved to Florida, and she happily joined the social committees in her community. The apple of her eye was Carson, their Golden Retriever, who she loved to walk each day; they happily socialized with everyone they ran into. Carol loved their close-knit community, and she enjoyed sipping wine at the driveway parties of her friends as well as on her beloved lanai. Carol was well known for her love of animals, gardening, baking, sewing and reading. She kept a running list of all the books she had recently read and was always quick with a recommendation. She admired the actress Katharine Hepburn and read anything and everything about her. Most of all, she was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and she will be dearly missed by all.

Carol is survived by her husband Gary Gloer; two children: Steven B. Wasilausky and his wife Megan, Sara W. Luckey and her husband Brian; 2 granddaughters: Sophia H. Wasilausky and Caroline R. Wasilausky; 1 brother: Bruce Headle and his wife Mary Michelle; and 3 nieces: Alyson, Kim, and Barbara.

The family will receive friends from 10am - 12pm Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City (11441 Hwy 301, Dade City, FL 33525) for a Memorial Gathering.
