Carl Robert Bob Souers, age 74 of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening September 10th, 2019 at Zephyrhills Heartland with his family in his heart and nearby.Bob was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 25th, 1945. His family moved to Northern Indiana when he was an infant, growing up on a farm outside of Garrett. He attended Garrett High School where he met his wife Ruby, both graduating in 1963. Career ambitions took him back to Detroit to work for one of the big three, Chrysler, where he stayed for ten years until a better job opportunity brought him back home to Auburn, Indiana where he rose to senior management level in accounting. Good fortune allowed him later in life to be able to move to sunny St. Petersburg, Florida in 2001 where he resided happily in his beloved Old Northeast Neighborhood for twelve years. Bob loved collecting antiques and old books. Over the span of his life he accumulated an impressive display of both. If St Petersburg had needed to start another small museum, he could have just opened the door to his house.He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Lee Souers and Nell V. Prall, both of Garrett, Indiana. He is survived by his two sons, Jeff Souers of Clearwater Beach, Florida, Jonathan Souers of Land O Lakes, Florida, daughter in law Tracey Souers of Land O Lakes, Florida, three grandchildren Tyler Souers, Allison Souers, and Logan Souers and his cherished ex-wife Ruby Souers.
