Callie Dix Strickland, 81, of Groveland, FL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 24th, 2022, in Clermont, FL where she was being cared for at the Mike Conley Hospice House. Born February 27, 1941, in Gray's Creek, NC to Wallace & Elma Carroll Dix, Ms. Callie married and moved to Florida where she was a long-time Lake County resident. Ms. Callie and her husband pastored the OakRidge Missionary Baptist Church in Lacoochee, FL, for 43 years. After her husbands passing, she regularly attended Midway Missionary Baptist Church in Mascotte, FL. Ms. Callie never slowed down. She served as a volunteer at Orlando Health South Lake Hospital, among other things. She was a friend to everyone who knew her.

Ms. Callie is survived by her three children: Don Cooper and his wife Shari of Asheville, NC, Gwen Johns and her husband Paul of Howey-in-the-Hills FL, and Stephen Strickland and his wife Sophie of Groveland FL. She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Hair; sister-in-law, Sandra Dix; brother-in-law, Junior Butler; her five grandchildren, Becky Cooper, Casey Dendor, Shaina Keough, Shelby Vordemark, and Justin Strickland; five great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022, at Tuscanooga Baptist Church in Groveland, FL where she will be laid to rest in the Tuscanooga Cemetary alongside her late husband of 53 years, Marvin "Nick" Strickland. The family is inviting friends of Ms. Callie for viewing at 10 a.m., one hour prior to the service time at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Ms. Callies memory be made to the Mike Conley Cornerstone Hospice House in Clermont, FL.
