Bruce Carey was born November 11th, 1938 in Newtown, Pennsylvania, to

Evelyn and Jerald Carey. He received his formal education in Medford, New Jersey and

was a veteran of the 108th Communications Flight of the United States Air Force

Communications Command, rising to the rank of Technical Sergeant. He was also a

veteran of the Air National Guard. Holding long employment as a juvenile probation

officer for the administrative courts of New Jersey, his guidance and insight changed the

lives of countless young people for the better. He met the love of his life, Patrica Carey in

1978, and on September 5th, 1998 they married. They moved from New Jersey to Dade

City, Florida in 2008 to enjoy their retirement trivia, hiking, metal detecting, biking, and

kayaking, travelling all 50 states and many countries abroad. A member of the Greater

Tampa Bay Area Ebay Resellers, he was active selling on Ebay since the early days of the

website in the 1990's. They were active in the Cherry Hill Bridge Club in New Jersey,

and the Tampa Bay Bridge Group in Florida. He was a member of the West Pasco

Historical Society. Aged 87, he passed away peacefully on December 25th, 2025. Bruce

is survived by his Wife Patrica Carey, brother Richard Lemma, Daughter Melissa Miles,

Sons Richard Hagerty, Kenneth Hagerty, and Brian Hagerty, Grandsons Ryan Hagerty,

Chris Wooden, Daniel Hagerty, and Michael Hagerty, and Granddaughters Tiffani

Lucero, Kristi Hagerty, and Kelly Black
