It is with great sadness that we announce our loving Brenda Adkins, 74, unexpectedly left us on November 26th, 2023, in Zephyrhills, FL.
Brenda was born September 21st, 1949, in Cranberry, WV where she spent her childhood years to David Ray Williams and Frances Jane Williams. She was a part of the Woodrow Wilson High School graduating class of 1967. She worked various jobs in her young life. She worked at Carolina Supermarket and in home health. Brenda spent time leading the youth at Beaver Church of God for several years. These jobs suited her servant heartshe always wanted to do what was right, be kind, and help others anytime she had the chance. Brenda married the love of her life, Lewis Coey Adkins, on April 9th, 1971. The two shared a marriage everyone dreams of having for 52 years. They met in their early twenties at Carolina Supermarket where Coey was her boss then she quickly became his boss for a lifetime.
Brenda loved to love her family. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend any person could have. She treasured her family and embraced every moment with them. Brenda loved making flower arrangements for wreaths and gravesites. She wholeheartedly enjoyed taking care of her pool and spending time around it, traveling for family vacations, playing games on her tablet, and most importantly shopping for her grandchildren.
Brenda is survived by her husband Coey Adkins; sister and brother-in-law Patty and Jim Sumner; two brothers and their wives David-Lee and Pattie Williams, and Jerry and Wendy Williams; son and daughter-in-law David and Stephanie Adkins; daughter Melissa Durham; grandchildren, Hope Adkins, Whitney Adkins, Britteny Johnson and husband Andrew Johnson, Zachary Adkins, Nevaeh Morgan, and Jaylon Morgan; plus 7 great-grandchildren Kiryah Blaney, Roland Fortune, Azekiel Johnson, Solaura Blaney, Raymond Fortune, Drue Johnson, and Trinity Fitzwater along with her many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her loving mother and father David and Frances Williams; brother Danny Williams; son Steven Coey Adkins, and beloved cat precious. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
Although we are all heartbroken, we wholeheartedly know she is no longer in pain but rejoicing in Heaven. We know God is in control and moreover will be with you watching over us all. "There are no longer goodbyes for us. Wherever you are, you will always be in our hearts." Love leaves a memory no one can steal.
