Bobby Wayne Simmons 75, of Dade City, FL passed away at home peacefully Saturday, September 17th, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born December 11, 1946, in Booneville, Mississippi to John Adam & Ora Kyle Simmons and moved to this area 52 years ago. He co-owned and operated Simmons, Beall and Trebour Land Surveying for 48 years and was a member of the Florida Board of Land Surveyors and the NRA. He was an avid Hunter and Fisherman and took great pleasure in sharing his love for the outdoors with his grandchildren. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army and was proud to show his continued love and support for his country. Bobby is survived by his wife: Karen Ayers-Simmons; daughter: Kimberly Michelle Adams and her husband Jim; 3 grandsons: Joshua VanSoest, Jacob VanSoest, Trey Vansoest; granddaughter: Ashley Rutter and her husband Kyle; 2 great granddaughters: Alice Schalk, Adalyn Rutter; and1 sister: Ovaleen Mercer. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. A memorial gathering will be held Sunday evening, September 25th, 2022, from 2-4pm at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City. Interment will take place 11:30am Monday September 26th, 2022, at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in his memory to Homes For Our Troops.
