Betty Lee Swoffer, 88, passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 in Zephyrhills, Florida. Betty Lee Wagner was born on January 16, 1933 in Imlay City, Michigan to the late Blair & Zola Wagner and grew up in Port Huron. She met and married her childhood sweetheart, Floyd Swoffer, on November 25, 1950.
Betty was a wonderful woman who loved spending time with her family and taking care of others. After raising a family she went back to school and was very proud to get her GED and started working at Sanborn Nursing Home where she continued to touch the lives of others in need. Betty also loved her God, her church, and reading bible verses. She was an angel here on Earth and will be greatly missed by many. Surviving to cherish the memory of Betty include her husband of 70 years, Floyd Swoffer; son, Denny Swoffer Sr. (Kathy); six grandchildren: Joseph Lambert, Floyd Lambert (Amy), Chris Lambert (Christine), James Lambert, Dennis Swoffer Jr. (Tina), and Diana Pack (Todd); sister-in-laws: Sue Wilkinson, Ginger Swoffer, and Kathy Wagner. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and many other family and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; loving daughter, Lucy Lambert; son-in-law, Joseph Lambert Jr.; sister-in-law, Kay Wagner; and her two brothers: Roger and Michael Wagner.A memorial service will be held later this summer in her hometown of Port Huron, Michigan.
