Obituary

Betty Jo Sapp (72) passed from this earth on September 24th, 2021 at her home in Dade City, Florida with family by her side.

Born December 5, 1948, in Hendersonville, North Carolina to Roy & Lois Norton. Betty had 4 siblings and she grew up in Hendersonville, North Carolina, and Newport, Oregon. She moved to Dade City, Florida in her teen years where she graduated from Pasco High School in the class of 1967.

On December 19, 1971, she married the love of her life, Elmer "Jake" Sapp of Dade City. They were married for 37 years until she became widowed in 2008. Betty loved God and her family with all her might and her world revolved around both. She was hardworking and loyal. She served The Lord throughout her life in many ways including through The Church of God. She cared about people and was always there for those she loved to lend a helping hand or do whatever she could do to help. She was the true matriarch of her family. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren do any and everything from playing with Power Wheels to Sports to teaching them to cook or bake. She was always up for adventures and never turned away someone in need. She will be greatly missed by many on this side of heaven.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents (Roy & Lois), husband (Jake), sister (Evelyn), and 2 children John and Lana.

She is survived by her three daughters Angela Ellis, Lynn Sapp, and Vivian Keeling (Cody Keeling). Seven grandchildren, Daniel, Emily (Randy), Mollie, Rachel, Caleb (Reagan), Jakeb, Jaymen, and six great-grandchildren, Lucas, Emma, Karliee, Brantley, Emmie Jean, and Marley Jo.

Service will be held at Hodges Funeral Home in Dade City, Florida on Monday, October 4th, 2021. Viewing 9:30 am Funeral Service 11:30 am Graveside Ceremony at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida at 1:30 pm.
