Betty Jane Schneider Powers, age 92, of Clearwater, Florida, passed away surrounded by her family on March 19, 2016 at the home of her daughter, Gail Greenfelder, where she had lived for the past year.. She was born on March 10, 1924 in Hammond Indiana and graduated from Thornton Fractional High School. Betty resided in Flossmoor, Illi- nois, for 40 years with her husband of 48 years, George Dale Powers, and their chil- dren. They were longtime members of St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church. Betty was a member of Flossmoor Service League and various other service organizations. She was also a golfer and very active at Olympia Fields Country Club, Olympia Fields, Illinois, where she and George were members for 70 years. She has resided in Clear- water, Florida, since 1994 where she was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. " Betty was always loved by everyone who met her and she has left her lasting influence on her loving family and friends. "Betty is predeceased by her husband, George Dale Powers. She is survived by her lov- ing children; daughter Gail (Glen) Greenfelder of Dade City FL; daughter Linda (Len) Routenberg of Roswell GA; son Dale (Amy) Powers of Hollywood FL; stepson George (Enid) Powers Jr. of London, England; grandchildren Ty (Theresa) Krause; Ryan (Ella) Krause; Megan Moris; Scott (Sofia) Routenberg; Caitlin Powers; Bret (Michelle) Pow- ers; Caroline (James) Plunkett ; Alexandra (Karl) Goward; great grandchildren Tristan, Luca, and Chloe Moris; Florian Routenberg; Georgia and Grace Plunkett; Elizabeth and Rex Goward."The family will hold a private service at St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in Flossmoor, Illinois, at a later date."In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, 1676 S.
