Betty A Sumner Filley, 84, of Dade City, Florida passed away August 4, 2022. She was born September 14, 1937 to Robert D Sumner and Dessie Lee Rippy in Zephyrhills, Florida. Betty and her late husband: Ward Filley married on August 21, 1955 in Hampton, Virginia. Betty was a member of the Garden Club. She enjoyed cooking, family activities, playing cards, and going to church. She loved staying active; sports, dance, anything, and everything. Most of all, she loved her family and the time they spent together. She made sure to make the holidays extra special, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas. She is preceded in death by her husband: Ward E Filley; daughter: Pamela L. Filley; Siblings: Robert Sumner, James Sumner, Diane Sumner, Arnie Sumner, Donna Sumner, Marlene Sumner, and Dottie Sumner. Betty is survived by her son: Daniel E Filley ( fianc: Theresa Lovetro ); daughter: Sheree Bracewell (husband: Tom Bracewell); grandchildren: Cory E Filley (wife: Megan Filley); great-grandchildren: Cory A Filley, Blakeleigh A Filley; Cousins: Barbara Peoples, Ernest Peoples, Keith, Dennis, Chad, Kevin, Todd, Loraine, and many great nieces and nephews. Betty was loved dearly and will be missed deeply. Thank you to her friends for everything, She loved you all. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City, Florida. The visitation will take place prior from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.. Interment will follow the funeral service at Garden of Memoires, Tampa.
