Betty Jean Nash Feek
'Hillbilly Mama' from West Virginia as she called herself, Betty Jean Nash Feek, 91, demanded 'open the door, open the door' and it was so on February 24, 2020.
July 17, 1928, Bosen & Birdie Nash had the blessing of a daughter, Betty Jean. Born and raised in coal country, Wilcoe, McDowell County, West Virginia. She lived a short time in Huntington, West Virginia with her Grandmother, Myrtle Stone.
Betty graduated from Gary High School in 1947, where she majored in fun, playing the saxophone and being a majorette. Years later she loved attending her high school reunions, reminiscing with classmates of great times.
In 1956, Betty 'finally got it right' and married the man who loved her with all his heart, William A. Feek Jr. (Bill), a career Army officer. Both worked in the Pentagon. Bill with Army Intelligence and Betty with the Air Force. She was a faithful military wife who accompanied her husband to various posts around the US.
Betty has been described as unique, strong and determined and quite a firecracker. Not the least bit shy, she said she had no regrets.
She's been a resident of Dade City for almost fifty years.
Betty loved her dogs, caring for her home, a good peanut butter, and jelly sandwich and her family.
She will be missed by many including; Daughter, Alisa F Weaver, Dade City, Son Douglas L Feek (Melanie) Vero Beach. 4 grandchildren who she adored Laura Weaver, Pamela Weaver, Jordan Feek, Jared Feek. and a niece Pam Renard, Arizona.
Passing before her were parents, Leland & Elizabeth Nash, husband Bill 2008, son-in-law, Wayne Weaver, 2004, sister-in-law, Maxine 2018.
Funeral Services will be private. Final resting place with beloved husband, Bill, at Arlington National Cemetery.Arrangements by Hodges Family Funeral Home 301 Chapel Dade City. Fl.
