Blessing, Betty Lou Honeyman, 91, Passed away September 13, 2017 at Heartland of Zephyrhills. She was a long-time resident of Dade City, spending many years in Key West, but then returned to this area to be near her children. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Robert (Bob), and her brothers Ned, Bobby and Ben Honeyman. She is survived by her sister, Karen (Chris) VanSchaik. 4 Children: Brant (Beth) Blessing of Dade City, Charlotte (Les) Krapf of Kissimmee, Danny (Marjean) Blessing of Opelika, AL. Chuck (Ginger Potwin) Blessing of Dade City. 14 Grandchildren: Bart Blessing, Benjie Blessing, Shelly Hearn, Lindy Story, Bradley Blessing, Jeremy Blessing, Beau Blessing, Ruth Blessing, Sarah Rudolph, Amelia Blessing, Emily Tyson Blessing, Margaret Blessing, Elizabeth Blessing, Daniel Blessing, and 18 Great Grandchildren. Betty was born in Miami County, OH on May 4, 1926 to Robert and Dorothy Honeyman, where she grew up on a Dairy Farm. While living there, she met her husband Bob in high school and they married when he returned from serving in the Navy during WWII, stationed in the New Hebrides Islands. After a dozen years of farming and 4 children, she followed Bobs dream of moving to Florida! In 1959 they bought the Gray Moss Inn in Dade City. During those years Betty was very busy with running the Inn and raising her family. She could always be seen at her childrens many athletic events, cheering and smiling! She also worked at Honeywell in Tampa, building circuit boards. After retirement, she and Bob moved full time into the Key West Home they had been building in stages over several years. Friends and family came to visit often and Betty introduced them all to the beauty and wonders of Gods creations in the waters of the keys. In the years following Bobs passing in 2000, Betty divided her time between tending her palms and mangroves in the keys, treasure hunting at yard sales with her daughters and granddaughters in Kissimmee, and traveling to far away placing. She enjoyed attending family events all over Florida and bird watching from her porch on Lakeside Dr in Zephyrhills. She was always busy and on the go. Betty loved God. Betty loved her family. Betty loved life! We loved Betty and will miss her greatly! Memorial Service
