Obituary

Betty Jo (Brooks) Altman, 90, left her earthly home on Sunday, January 16, 2022, and is at peace with her Lord and Savior. Betty was born to William F. and Emily L. (Alexander) Brooks on October 14, 1931, in Moulton, Alabama. She is preceded in death by her husband: Lavon Altman; grandson Christopher Altman, and five siblings. Betty is survived by children: Joan Burns Riley, DuWayne (Vanessa) Altman, Norma (Brad) Miller, Larry Altman, Michael (Ann) Altman, Greg (Vanessa) Altman, Gary Altman, 15 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. Betty was the last sibling of William F. and Emily L. Brooks family. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Bettys primary profession was a homemaker. She enjoyed growing beautiful plants and shopping with her friend of 56 years, Kathy Williams. Her hobbies were bingo and playing darts. She won several dart championships. Her greatest joy was her children, her many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Betty never met a stranger and was loved by all that knew her. Flowers are appreciated, or please donate to your community or church food bank. A Celebration of Life for family and close friends will be at Hodges Family Funeral Home, Dade City, Friday, January 28, at 1:00 pm. There will not be a visitation.
