Bernice Cola Thompson, born May 13, 1943 in Lewiston, Maine, daughter of the late Philip E. Dunn and Grace Jordan Dunn died March 17, 2021 at the age of 77. Predeceased by her Husband, Harry Thompson of Zephyrhills, and six brothers and sisters, Bernice, known as Cola or Cokie to her family and friends, is survived by her sister, Kathleen McAllister of Waterford, Maine, brother Peter Dunn of Norway, Maine, son Scott Oakes (Molly Morgan) of Summerville, SC., Peggy Brown (Brad) of Perkinston, MS., and Veronica Chesbrough (Rick White) of Brandon, FL., six grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Raised in Poland, Maine, Cola spent much of her adult life in the south including Mississippi, Alabama, and finally, Florida, living many years in Zephyrhills until the death of her husband in 2015, at which time she moved to Brandon, Florida. Cola enjoyed playing cards, flea marketing, long rides down back roads (many of which she and Harry went with her stepson Harry, Jr.!), occasional trips to Daytona during Bike Week to visit with her son, people watching, listening to Karaoke, country music, and of course, anything Coca Cola! In fact, she decorated her house inside and out with coke paraphernalia to the point that strangers sometimes stopped in and brought her stuff they found to add to her collection!

The family is extremely grateful to the staff at Helping Hands Senior Services ALF, especially Ms. Lucy, for the care and caring provided to our mother over the last two years as she made her final journey home. Additional supports from her Care Manager and Nurse at her Primary Doctors, Visiting Angels, and Hospice is also very much appreciated.

Though a service will not be held, donations to a charity of your choice is always welcomed.
