"Miss B" 91, of Zephyrhills and formerly of Canton, OH passed away 10/07/2016 at Gulfside Center for Hospice Care. She was born 05/18/1925 in Ashland, Kentucky. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Zephyrhills and was very active in the United Methodist Women's Group where she previously served as past president for 2 terms. She participated in many other activities at the church especially, serving in the kitchen. Beatrice was also a member of the Woman's Club of Zephyrhills. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Penix who passed in 1994 and sister, Lea Dawson. Survivors include son, Larry (Susan) Penix of Annapolis, Maryland; 2 granddaughters, Kristen (Andy) Holt of Salt Lake City, Utah and Michelle (Drew) Hartman of Louisville, Kentucky; 2 great grandchildren, Henry and Ethan Holt of Salt Lake City, Utah; 3 sisters, Flo Myers, Vi Brumfield and Gwen (Darrell) Trout; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place 10-11 AM Tuesday, October 11th at Hodges Family Funeral Home, Zephyrhills. A service will be conducted at 11 AM at the funeral home with burial to follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
