IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Beatrice Barbara "Bebe"
Cain
October 27, 1940 – October 7, 2024
Beatrice Barbara "Bebe" Cain, 83, passed away on October 7, 2024, in Dade City after a prolonged illness.
In her heyday, Bebe loved cooking and baking for family and friends, spending time with her children and grandchildren, entertaining her domino group, decorating for holidays, gardening/working in her yard, traveling the country and taking cruises, and much more. She enjoyed spending part of the summer months at the Cain cabin and exploring west-central Colorado, where she lived for a brief period. Mardi Gras balls and visiting New Orleans also were favorites.
Later in life, she enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels in her yard, riding her scooter down the Hardy Trail, and doting over her three cats. She also loved a good book and a glass of wine. She loved meeting new people and never met a stranger.
Born October 27, 1940, in Asheville, North Carolina, to Ed and Bea Merchant, she was raised in Tarpon Springs and moved to Dade City in 1964. She was an avid gardener and a member of the Dade City Garden Club, as well as serving on the Altar Guild of St. Mary's Episcopal Church for many years.
Bebe was a much loved wife, mom, and grandmother. Preceded in death by her husband Walter Patrick "Pat" Cain Jr, she is survived by her son Walter Patrick Cain III, MD, and his husband Tom Merrill; daughter Barbara Ann Carson and her husband Dwight Carson; grandsons Ed Carson and Patrick Carson; and her three kitties Pooh, Piglet, and Junior.
