Smith, Barney Smitty, 68 of Dade City , passed away Saturday, August 4, 2012 in Dade City under the care of HPH Hospice. He was born November 12, 1943 in Greenville , AL to Frank & Lonie Lucas Smith and was a longtime area resident. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years: Rhoann Smith, Dade City, FL; 11 children: Timmy Saunders, Springfield, OH, Lori Smith Scroggins, Polk City, FL, Alec Smith, Dade City, FL, Billy Tackett, Michigan, Sara Smith, Dade City, FL, Wendell Tackett, London, OH, Noreen Pegg, Dutton, AL, Marianne Wilkinson, Michigan, Barney J. Smith, Lewiston, PA, David Smith, Lima, OH, Amanda Lynn Smith, Dade City, FL; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: Frank & Lonie Smith; 2 brothers: Gilbert Smith, Clifford Smith; 1 sister: Mary Mears; and 1 son: Eric Lee Riley. Funeral services will take place 2pm Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at the Dade City Christian Church. Interment will follow at Dade City Cemetery . The family will receive friends for viewing from 6-8pm Tuesday evening at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in his memory to HPH Hospice.
