Barbara Ellen Switzer, 70, of Zephyrhills passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on February 11, 2017. She was born September 8, 1946 in Wakeman, OH to Wayne and Marian Johnson. In 1972 she moved to Zephyrhills and has resided here ever since. She enjoyed reading, making jewelry, gardening, taking care of animals, and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her 3 sisters, Mary Lee Schmitz, Elizabeth Bement and Julie Gribble. Survivors include her beloved husband of 28 years, Richard Switzer; children, Kristin "KC" (Barry) Doherty, Kalvin (Jessi) Switzer, Stephen (Erin) Switzer, Joshua (Lindsay) Ryle; grandchildren, Chance and Addison Cunana, Brody, Connor, Shelby, Anderson Switzer and Bryce Ryle. Visitation will take place 10-11 AM Wednesday, February at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 11441 US Hwy 301 Dade City, FL. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 AM at the funeral home with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Gardens, Dade City. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Humane Society of Pasco County.
