Barbara A. Riffel, age 84 of Lakeland, Florida passed peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2026 surrounded by her sons and their wives.

Barbara was born in Dade City, Florida and grew up in Zephyrhills, Florida. She attended school and graduated from Zephyrhills High School. She loved reading, especially her favorite book The Bible. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church in Lakeland, Florida.

She is survived by her sons Michael H. Kuhlmann (Mary) and Peter F. Kuhlmann (Colleen). Stepson Lawrence Riffel and family. Sister Shirley Springer (William) and brother James Adams. Granddaughters Brittany Haworth (Keelan) and Shelbi Kuhlmann-Pratt (Jessie) and Grandson Grant Kuhlmann (Natalee). Three great granddaughters and two great grandsons. Many wonderful nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Sister in law Janice Douberly.

She was preceded in death by her Parents William Harold Adams and Audrey Welch Adams. Her brothers Harold “Buddy” Adams and Dale Adams. Nephews Dewayne Springer and Tim Adams. Husbands Horst W. Kuhlmann and Edward Riffel. Sister in laws Barbara Jean Moretz and Wanda Casella.

A Public viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 9:00 am., Service at 10:00-11:00 am, followed by interment at 2:00 pm at The Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, Florida. Arrangements are being handled by Hodges Funeral Home at 11441 US 301 Dade City, Florida.
