Barbara S. Braun, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on July 20, 1939, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2026, in Zephyrhills, Florida. She made her home in several places throughout her life, including Carmel, New York, and Zephyrhills, Florida, carrying her warmth and humor with her wherever she went.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her grandson, Zachary Walitynski; her son‑in‑law, Jim Koob.

She is survived by her loving partner, Steve Meckstroth.; her children, Barb Koob, Chuck Braun (Marianne), Julie Carpenter (Marcus), and Tara Walitynski (Jon); her grandchildren, Daniel, Charlie (Enida), Chris (Kaitlyn), Michael (Bethany), Anika, Anna, and Amanda; and her great‑grandchildren, Leyla, Maya, and Margot.

Barbara was a ray of light—joyful, spirited, and always ready to brighten a room. She preferred laughter over seriousness, unless the conversation turned to her faith, which she held close to her heart. She loved gathering with family and friends, playing pinochle and any kind of game, and enjoying lively rounds of badminton. Some of her happiest moments were spent sharing stories, smiles, and her favorite tropical drinks with her grandchildren.

Her legacy is one of warmth, connection, and a life lived with genuine joy. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
