went to be with the Lord on April 21, 2016 at the age of 76. She was an active member of First Baptist Church Dade City and former member of First Baptist Church Tampa. She held a degree in music from the University of Tampa and did graduate work at USF. Barbara was an elementary school music teacher for 10 years and for 30 years was a private piano instructor. She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Harry Barker. Survivors include 2 step children, and their families, and by her cousin, Jon Garcia (Coletta) of Elgin, Texas. A memorial service will be conducted 11 Am Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 301 Chapel Dade City. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Dade City or to the charity of your choice.
