Miller, Avis DuBois 87, of Zephyrhills, FL, formerly of Stamford, NY, went home to the Lord on Thursday, February 11, 2016. Avis lived most of her adult life in Stamford, NY where, along with her husband Carkie, raised two loving children. She worked for many years as a waitress at Collins Diner and The Red Carpet Motor Inn in Stamford. She was a member of the Stamford First Presbyterian Church where she participated on many governing boards. Avis was predeceased by her parents Otto and Adelia Olsen, husbands: Carlington DuBois and Robert Miller; brothers: Otto and Fred Olsen; and her traveling companion for 25 years Charles Axtel. Loved ones left behind are her son: Tracy DuBois of Jefferson, NY; daughter: Sharon (Donald) Hall of Camillus, NY; 3 grandsons: Brian Hall of Tampa, FL, Troy (Lauren) Hall of Hollywood, FL and Matthew Hall of St. Pete Beach, FL; 2 brothers: Melvin (Debra) Olsen of Trenton, FL, Eugene (Marilyn) Olsen of Bloomville, NY; many nieces and nephews and her current guardian angel Walter Voorhees of Zephyrhills, FL.
