Asa McClellan Obituary

Asa "Ace" John McClellan, 86, of Zephyrhills, Florida, passed away at his home on July 1st, 2020. Asa was born in Michigan on May 4th, 1934 and spent most of his life in the mitten state, where he married his high school sweetheart, Gayle Denise Burbey on May 22nd, 1954 and spent 66 wonderful years by her side. Together they raised five sons, Michael, Rodney, Scott, Chris & Craig. Ace enjoyed spending summers in the Port Austin/Caseville area, creating memories with his family and eight grandchildren, Karlie, Steven, Ryan, Ian, Michael, Lauren, Kelsey and Marcel.

Despite health complications in adulthood, Ace not only survived, but thrived for many years eventually retiring to Florida to enjoy hobbies such as golf, visiting amusement parks and weekly dinners/card games with friends. The extra years on this earth also allowed Ace to witness the births of an incredible eleven great grandchildren, Faith, Evelyn, Sophia, Taylor, Alexia, May, Leah, Ayden, Greylynn, Emme and Delilah. Although the newest McClellan member, Ryan Rae, had yet to meet great grandpa Ace, the meaningful time spent with the youngest generation will be recounted to her in the wonderful memories they created with him.

In heaven, Ace is once again reunited with his mother, Celesta, his father Raymond, his sister Mary Sue, his brother, Leslie and his grandson, Ryan. A private memorial service will be held at a later date in both Florida and Michigan.
