Obituary

Arvilla Ida (Parker) Reynolds Alger (aka Aunt Vicky), at 98 years young, went to her heavenly home on Monday, April 6, 2026 at Solaris Health and Rehabilitation in Zephyrhills, FL but resided prior at Angels Senior Living at Connerton Court in Land O’ Lakes, FL.

Born November 29, 1927 in Athol, New York, she was the daughter of Earle and Inez Parker. Arvilla attended Warrensburg Central School. She attended Christian and Missionary Alliance Tabernacle in Warrensburg.

Upon leaving school, she worked in Schenectady, NY. After WWII, Arvilla married the love of her life, Gordon Earle Reynolds, on February 25, 1947. She would tell many stories of tormenting him, her old brother Clayton’s best friend, by messing his hair up the minute he came through the door. They were the three musketeers.

After many residences along the way, Arvilla and Gordon settled on a farm in Gansevoort, NY. She continued to work for General Electric at Fort Edward, NY. They also purchased a home in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Arvilla was a woman of great faith. She was a youth director for Alliance Youth Fellowship at her church in Saratoga Springs, NY. She only had two children but you could always find many more at her home on the farm.

In 1965, Arvilla and Gordon moved to Land O’ Lakes, FL. They bought a business there and in Pinellas Park, FL. They lived the rest of their years in Florida, in what they referred to as “God’s Country.” Everyone knew of her generosity and willingness to be of help to others whenever she could.

Besides her parents, Arvilla was pre deceased by her husband, Gordon, of 45 years. She remarried Kenneth Alger who also pre deceased her. Her brothers: Clayton Parker, Charles Parker, Jack Parker, Alfred Parker and on sister: Muriel Green pre deceased her. At the time of her passing, she had lost two grandchildren, Sherry Lynn Kemp on October 7, 2025 and Dawn Renee Merchant on December 18, 2025.

She is survived by two children, son: Stuart Reynolds (Judy) of Valrico, FL and daughter: RoseAnna Minahan (Robert) of Wesley Chapel, FL. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Shaun Minahan, Amber Miracle, Michele Reynolds and Holly Brown; seven great grandchildren and many more loved nieces, nephews and their families.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Hodges Funeral Home in Zephyrhills, FL. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 2:00 pm with services following. Burial will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL with internment at a later date.
