SNYDER, Arthur Conwell, 94, passed away peacefully on Easter, April 9, 2023 surrounded by his family. Art was born on March 20, 1929 in Gloucester City, N.J. to the late Price Knapp and Myrtis (Beardsley) Snyder. He is preceded in death by his wives, Betty Ann Snyder and Betty Kerr Snyder, two brothers, Francis Snyder and Price Snyder. Art is survived by his daughters, Pamela Snider and Lisa Snyder, MD (husband John) and his stepchildren, George Stubock (wife Lily), Cynthia Hagans and Pam Lopez as well as his sister, Gertrude Potter; nephews, Samuel and Jeffrey Potter and numerous grandchildren. Through dedication with self teaching, he became a talented clothes designer and tailor having designed for well known companies such as London Fog. He was also a talented drummer (started at age 7) and singer, who early in life led "Artie Snyder and his orchestra" that entertained people at proms and special events. Arthur was a very proud U.S. Army Veteran enlisting in 1948 and served many years that included serving during the Korean War where he played in the Army band with great performers such as Vic Damone from 1951 1953 touring to combat areas to give hope to the soldiers. In addition, although he was again self taught, he became a very accomplished and avid golfer who played the game with great enjoyment well into his late 80s! His quick wit and smile are just two things we will miss most. His family will receive friends on April 29, 10-10:30 a.m. at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 36327 S.R. 54, Zephyrhills, FL. 33541 where his funeral service will start at 10:30 a.m. Following the service and procession, he will be laid to rest at Lakeland Memorial Gardens, 2125 Bartow Rd, Lakeland FL. 33801 with military honors. Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, in his honor and memory may be made to Loving Care Cat Rescue, P.O. Box 153, Lemoyne, PA. 17043, his daughters 501( c )(3) rescue of which he was very proud.
