Arthur Fredrick Hood, 89, of Dade City, passed away Sunday, June 7th 2015. Art is survived by his brother, Leo J. Hood, wife, Ruth, sister in law, Adah Hood. His daughters, Jacqueline D. Grant, (Scott) of Dade City, Melinda S. Rubino of Trinity, Teresa L. Cooke, (Kenneth) of Spring Hill. His grand children, Timothy J. Staten, Nicholas C. Grant, (Danyelle), Anthony T. Staten, Victoria R. Staten, Shaun T. Downing, Chase V. Rubino, Kaleb P. Cooke, and Kolby L. Cooke. Nephews Don G Hood, Steve L. Hood, Gordon L. Hood and niece Pam Morgan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gertrude and Leon Hood and his brother Gene D. Hood. Art was born in Lafayette, Indiana, moving to Zephyrhills with his wife and children in 1965. He was self employed with Hood's A-Z Tire King for many years, later opening the Zephyrhills first automatic car wash. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and had a love for the cool, crisp summers of Franklin, North Carolina. Art served in the armed forces during WWII. Visitation will be at Hodges Funeral Home, 36327 State Road 54 in Zephyrhills at 10 am on Friday, June 12th with a Funeral service to follow at 11 am. Burial will be at Oakside Cemetery located on 1st street in Zephyrhills. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Art's life.Arrangements made by Hodges Family Funeral Home.
