IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Arthur Marvin
Adams
March 20, 1936 – January 15, 2026
Arthur "Marvin" Adams, 89, of Dade City, Florida passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Marvin was born in Wilcox County, Georgia on March 20, 1936 to Oscar Nelson Adams and Corene Barefoot Adams. He moved to Dade City as a teenager and was a 1954 graduate of Pasco High School. He worked for Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. for 42 years starting out as a part-time, carry-out clerk during high school and ultimately serving as location manager of the Dade City locations for many years before retiring in 1994. He was very proud of his service in The National Guard in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
He was predeceased by his parents, his son Kenneth "Kenny" Adams and his sisters Louvenia Adams Joiner of Bonaire, Georgia, Willene Adams Harrell of Abbeville, Georgia and Evelyn Adams Spivey of Starke, Florida (her husband Harvey Spivey survives). He is survived by his wife of nearly 67 years Lucille Gude Adams, his son Glenn Adams and his wife Stacey Young Adams of Winter Park, Florida, his daughter-in-law Brenda Beiersdorfer Adams of Dade City, his grandson Tyler Adams of Dade City, his granddaughters Taylor Adams Denton and her husband Aaron Denton of San Antonio, Florida, Catherine "Cate" Adams of Miami, and Lucie Adams of Winter Park, and his great-granddaughter Carolyn Denton. He was looking forward to meeting his great-grandson expected in February.
On January 18, 1959, he married his wife who has eight younger sisters. They along with their husbands also survive him: Mary Ellen and Durwood Bullington, Peggy and Truman Campbell, and Cindy and Dicky Brown, all of Dade City, Marcella and Mack Holmes of Inverness, Florida, Evelyn and Mickey Brewington of Lakeland, Florida, Sharon and David Ross of Zephyrhills, Florida, Jane and Bert Muscarella of Loveland, Colorado, and Bertha Golz of Friendswood, Texas. Additionally, he is survived by his many nephews and nieces on both the Adams and Gude sides of the family.
In his younger years, he played many sports and enjoyed hunting and fishing. In more recent years, he spent a lot of time watching sports and working outdoors on the property where he lived for the past 20 years in the home where his wife was born. He also was an excellent woodworker who carved ducks, made turkey calls and built many Adirondack chairs, step-stools, picnic tables and other items for family members including most recently an art easel for his granddaughter.
Marvin was a great role model for his sons and others by reflecting the importance of work ethic, faithfulness, honesty, integrity, and the love of family. Although his survivors will not be honored with his physical presence moving forward, they will hold on to memories of a life well-lived.
His funeral service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 32145 St. Joe Road, Dade City, Florida on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, 14848 Curley Road, Dade City, Florida.
