Anthony F. DeCosmo, 86, of San Antonio passed away March 24, 2018 at Gulfside Center for Hospice Care. Tony was born November 11, 1931 in Brookyn, NY. Tony treasured his days on Jingle Bell Lane in Aurora, IL where he designed and manufactured artificial Christmas trees, wreaths ad garlands as plant manager for the American Tree Company. He was fondly remembered as "Papa Christmas." Tony was an active father and friend of Marmion Academy and Rosary High School in Aurora, IL. In his retirement, he remained active with the Italian American Club and was extremely proud of his involvement with the veterans and Support the Troops events. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Kathy; children, John DeCosmo, Joseph(Stacey) DeCosmo, Maria (David) Weddige, Anthony(Andrea) DeCosmo; 9 grandchildren, Louis (Kelly), Michaeland Sam DeCosmo, Joe DeCosmo and Nick DeCosmo, Chris Weddige (meghan Baise) and Michelle Weddige, Anthony DeCosmo and Elizabeth DeCosmo. Visitation will take place from 9-10 AM Monday, April 2nd at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 11441 US Hwy 301, Dade City. A mass will be conducted 11 AM at St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in San Antonio. Inurnment with honors will follow at 2:30 PM at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
