Obituary

Anne (Annie) Vickerman Hautamaki passed gently from this world on December 15, 2025, at the age of 75, in Dade City, Florida.

Born in Minnesota and lovingly chosen into the arms of Blair and Sophia Vickerman, Annie carried with her the quiet strength of her faith and a heart that knew how to care deeply. She lived her life as a steady harbor, devoted as a wife, a caring sister, a loving mother, a loyal friend, and a cherished grandmother.

On May 5, 1973, Annie married her lifelong partner, Alan Hautamaki, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in the beautiful town of Grand Marais, Michigan. Their marriage of 52 years was a testament to enduring love, one built on patience and unwavering companionship.

Guided by a calling to heal and teach, Annie earned her undergraduate degree in nursing from the University of Detroit Mercy and later completed her Master's degree in Nursing at Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan. She devoted 25 years to compassionate patient care at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan, before spending another 25 years shaping future nurses as a beloved instructor at Oakland Community College. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched, both at the bedside and in the classroom.

Annie was deeply loved in every place she called home, leaving gentle footprints in Rochester Hills, Michigan; Tampa, Florida; and Grand Marais, Michigan, each community forever brighter for having known her.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Alan Hautamaki; her children, Kalinda (Randy) Lewis, Jared (Carrie) Hautamaki, Joshua Hautamaki, and Kristin (Warren) Scaife; and her treasured grandchildren, Gavin, Sofia, Hudson, Blake, Niklas, Louis, and Alice, who were the sunlight of her later years.

She is also survived by her older brother, Tom Vickerman, and her younger brother, Tim Corcoran.

Though she has left this earthly shore, Annie's love continues to ripple outward, in lessons taught, hands held, and family bonds that will forever carry her name and spirit forward.
