Ana "Mama" Velez was 85 years old from college point New York passed away on Sunday October 12 2025 in Wesley Chapel Florida. Ana was born in San Sebastian Puerto Rico and moved to New York where she met the love of her life Victor Manuel Velez and married on June 8th, 1958. Together they started building their beautiful family Ralphie, Migdalia, and Orlando from there the family continued growing having 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Ana worked 1 year in a factory until her second grandchild was born. She then started a new job raising all her grandchildren and great grandchildren with no breaks and was paid with love and hugs. In the end she was the one that felt it wasn't a job, it was an honor. After losing the love of her life, it was her grandchildren and great grandchildren that kept her living for as long as she could fight against the pain and to push through the stress of life. Ana will be remembered for her kindness, love of family, her radiant smile that brightens every room, her cooking, such as her beloved and amazing pasteles, potato salad, Carne Guisada. And who can forget her amazing lasagna soup. Whatever the name, no matter the meal, it always had the same effect and always hit the spot. What we will miss the most is her laughter after giving someone chiva in a dominos game. Ana leaves behind her 2 sons, her daughter, her grand children, great grandchildren, son in law, daughter in law and many more friends and family, leaving a huge hole in many hearts.
