Amelia Gonzales was born in Robstown, Texas on October 20, 1924. She peacefully went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on November 30, 2020. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister and she lived a vibrant, lively and healthy life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tomas C. Gonzales, parents Tomas and Josefina Garza, her brother Gilberto Garza and her grandson Mario Gonzales. She is survived by her siblings Roberto Garza, Merced Garza, Olga Benavides, Hilda Gonzalez, Tomas Garza, Jr., and Josefina Gomez. She is also survived by five children, Minerva Olvera (Juan), Rachel Juarez (Jerry), Tommie Neuner (Dale), Ruben B. Gonzales (Betty) and Evaristo Gonzales. She leaves behind twelve grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren. "Ama" (as we lovingly called her) loved to read, sew, and work in her garden surrounded by her flowers. She loved to take care of her grandchildren. She was an inspiration to many people and will be sorely missed by all. Please join us in celebrating her life at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City on Friday, December 4th between 11:30am and 12:30pm. Amelia will be interred beside her late husband at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
