Allan Jude Powers of San Antonio, passed away October 8, 2018, at Gulfside Hospice of Zephyrhills after a long illness. Allan was born September 8, 1927, in Richmond, Virginia to Allan and Mary Powers. He served in the Navy, graduated from the University of Notre Dame, and was a retired college administrator at Mercy College in Detroit and Saint Leo University. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marilyn (Lynn), daughters, Christine Paulsen (John), Elizabeth Vester (Mark), sons, Patrick Powers (Robin), Jamie Powers (Mardee), and Jeff Powers (Meg). Grandchildren: Brooke Paulsen, Kelly Vester, Keegan Powers, Anna Powers, JJ Powers and Matthew Powers. Family survivors also include sisters-in-law, Ann Powers and Rosemary Powers, brother-in-law, Jim Friel and sister-in-law, Ann Friel and several nieces and nephews. Deceased family members include his parents, Allan and Mary Powers and brothers, John and Tom Powers. Allan was active in several civic organizations in the area, including Kiwanis of Dade City. A long time parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church in San Antonio, he was a lector and usher. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthonys Saturday, October 13 at 10:30 AM. Burial at Saint Anthony Cemetery following the mass. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Church Building Fund, 32852 Rhode Island Ave. San Antonio, FL 33576.
