In the early morning hours of August 1, 2025,

"Preacher" A.W. (Bill) Kitchens had his best day ever.

God called Him Home.

Born August 9, 1937, he was just 8 days away from celebrating his 88th birthday.

He grew up and graduated high school in Turkey Creek FL, he then moved to Darby FL. in his early 30's where he pastored his first church, Amelia Baptist. He resided in Zephyrhills, Fl. for the past 30 years.

William, as his family called him, is survived by three daughters; Connie Kitchens Flynn (Paul), Vonnie Sue Kitchens Maples and Lisa Kitchens Lauramoore (Dean). Five surviving grandchildren loved him very much; Michael Loyed, Marcia Butler, Amanda Eldridge, Amber Jimenez and Tim Freeman. "Grandaddy"/ "Grandpa" also was cherished by 10 great grandchildren Colby, Hailey, Josh, Julie, Sarah, Luxury (Littlebit), Levi, Will, Lyssa, and Elizabeth.

His loving sister, Louise Kitchens, also grieves the loss of her brother.

William was preceded in death by his mother and father, Alma and Barney Kitchens, one brother, Ray Kitchens and the little love of his life, his youngest daughter Tina Louise Kitchens. Also waiting on him in Heaven, was his great grandson, Joshua Butler.

Dad always told his girls to not cry for him when his time on Earth was done, as he had wanted to see Jesus since he was a little boy.

His number one desire was for all to know Jesus as Savior, and his favorite Bible verse was John 3:16.

Preacher wanted the World to know that everyone is a "whosoever".

Home-going celebration of life will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at

Pasadena Baptist Church in Dade City FL. originally named Clinton Avenue Baptist Church.

This is the church that Bill and his wife, Norma, started and built from the ground up with the help of many other faithful Church members over 50 years ago.

Viewing will be from 10:00 - 10:30am. Service at 10:30am. Internment to follow at Bethel Baptist Cemetery Lakeland FL.

All relatives, friends and former church family are invited to attend.
